Milling Operator Job Description:

Wire or Sinker:

1. Responsible for meeting the customer's needs by setting up and operating a wire or sinker EDM machine to the customer's specifications as detailed in the process books. While doing this task, achieving quality, cost and delivery objectives for assigned projects. 2. Sets up (or the ability to learn) and operate EDM machines to ensure that machine parts are made according to the process sheets that meet or exceed published rates. 3. Measures parts and reads measurement instruments using the following tools: Dial indicators, micrometers, calipers and plug gauges to ensure parts are within defined specifications to meet quality standards. 4. Complete fixture teardowns and machine set ups as needed for a specified job. 5. Identify the need and complete electrode and wire changes when needed. 6. Detailed quality assurance review of work on a continuous basis taking full ownership of the part operation assigned. 7. Appropriately label parts that do not meet quality standards. 8. Reviews operational processes and makes suggestions for process improvements in production, quality and company performance. 9. Complete a daily time records sheet to accurately reflect the amount of time per job activity. 10. Proactively complete daily asset care requirements and subsequently escalate as needed maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor and maintenance team using established maintenance ticket process. 11. Keep work area clean, organized, and free from clutter. The machine must be wiped down each shift. 12. 1 year manufacturing experience in tight tolerance production. 13. Minimum of 5 years CNC EDM sinker or wire machining experience. 14. Strong math skills demonstrated through assessment during hiring process. 15. Must be able to measure parts within tight tolerances. 16. Must be able to read indicators and use tools as detailed above. 17. Ability to read, write, and speak English for customer, job and equipment specifications. 18. Experience using measuring equipment such as caliper, micrometer, gages. 19. 5 axis and/or 3 axis and surface grinding experience, preferred. 20. 5S standards experience preferred. 21. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. 22. The ability to use a computer. 23. Prior experience working in aerospace manufacturing industry.

CNC Machine Operator:

1. Responsible for setup and machining of parts on 3-axis and 5-axis grinding, milling, and EDM equipment to meet our increasing customer demand. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, committed to safety for self and the team, hungry to learn and make improvement, a high standard for quality and process compliance, and a team player. 2. 3 years of experience EDM or wire/electrode EDM, preferred. 3. 5S standards experience preferred 4. Prior experience working in aerospace manufacturing industry. 5. High school diploma or equivalent 6. 1 year manufacturing experience in tight tolerance production. 7. 5 axis and/or 3 axis and surface grinding experience required. 8. Strong math skills demonstrated through assessment during hiring process. 9. Must be able to measure parts within tight tolerances. 10. Must be able to read indicators and use tools as detailed above. 11. Ability to read, write, and speak English for customer, job and equipment specifications. 12. Sets up (or the ability to learn) and operates a 3-axis, Milling, EDM and/or 5-axis creep feed grinding machine to grind flat or contoured surfaces to customer specifications. 13. Measures parts and reads measurement instruments using the following tools: Dial indicators, micrometers, calipers and plug gauges 14. Detailed quality assurance review of work on a continuous basis taking full ownership of the part operation assigned. 15. Reviews operational processes and makes suggestions for process improvements in production, quality and company performance. 16. Complete fixture tear-downs and machine set-ups as needed for a specified job 17. Identify the need for and complete grinding wheel changes when needed. 18. Proactively complete daily asset care requirements and subsequently escalate as needed maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor and maintenance team using established maintenance ticket process. 19. Must be able to run multiple machines, assuring cycle run times and quality, per business demands. 20. Keep work area clean, organized and free from clutter.
