This job was posted by https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov : For more information, please see: https://illinoisjoblink.illinois.gov/jobs/13666776 CNC Set Up Machinist- Job Description Our company is searching for a talented and experienced CNC Machine set up to oversee our computer numeric controlled (CNC) machines, milling and turning centers. This includes G Codes, Tooling, Faunc Controls, Turning centers, and Vertical mills. You will be responsible for ensuring our company produces quality parts for a national distribution product line. Set up person will be reporting to the Plant Manager. As the machine set-up person, the successful candidate will be a skilled professional, with excellent attention to detail and mechanical aptitude. To excel in this role, you will also have to possess a knowledge of standard/conventional CNC machinery and tooling equipment, measuring devices, and machine operation.
Responsibilities:
Set-up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, turning and milling. Be Familiar with Conventional lathes, mills, and drill presses. Be able to load programs and change jaws and tooling. Ensure the CNC machine operates in accordance with the guidelines of the company. Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results. Start Up machinery daily to guarantee functionality. Record all machine actions by completing production logs. Communicate logistics issues that arise in the process of creating a part. Ensure timely delivery of product line to clients. Conduct regular CNC machine assessments. Train and supervise CNC operators.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification required. Certificate or diploma in CNC machining is an advantage. 2 years experience as a CNC Machine set up person. Ability to translate mechanical documents and drawings. Attention to detail with a goal-driven attitude. Strong comprehension and analytical abilities. Good computer and mathematical skills. Be able to read G Code Follow safety rules & OSHA regulations. Occasional Lift 50 lbs. Most lifting is 1 to 12 pounds. Standing and Walking for minimum of 8 hours a day.
