Seward Screw, LLC is a family-owned manufacturing company in a small town and our employees are part of the family! We also offer a tool purchasing program and uniforms. The most desirable candidate will be results oriented, mechanically minded, have an interest in manufacturing, and how things work! Role & Responsibilities Positive and Cooperative attitude. Obtain Traveler Packet from supervisor for next required JO. Clock in on proper operation for JO. Verify all required paperwork is in Traveler Packet. I.e. prints, MTL requirements, quality documents. Deliver material request to material department. Obtain required inspection gages from the tool crib. Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, etc. according to layouts and prints. Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc. Confirm most recent program is loaded in machine as to perform the correct function. Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machine. Complete a first piece to check if the machine produces outputs according to specifications. First piece to be submitted to quality for run approval. Upon arrival of first piece, set machine to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts. Supervise the machine while it executes the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result. Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly. Wipe down and clean machine throughout the day. Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality. Schedule full chip hoppers to be unloaded. At end of shift turn in all finished products for inspection at designated quality drop zones. Clock off on parts produced for each operation completed. Clean up work area and discard of scrap to appropriate bins. Preferred experience with Doosan, Hydromats, vertical HAAS, in-feed grinders, Citizen, Star, Nomura, Euros, 34MM Miyano and Takamaz machines. Qualifications & Education Requirements High School diploma or equivalent WIllingness to learn new things Able to work self-directed Good verifiable attendance record Able to read and comprehend shop floor blueprint drawings Proficient in both the Imperial and Metric systems of measurement Knowledge and proficiency in the use of the following inspection equipment: optical comparator, profilometer, roundness tester, universal gauge, hand gauges such as, but not limited to micrometers, calipers, pitch, internal ID gauges radius gauges, indicators, height gauge, etc. Proper care and use of attribute gauges; i.e. thread rings, thread plugs, plug gauge, pipe thread rings and plugs, etc. Basic understanding of computers and their use Knowledge and use of geometric tolerances Strong visual observation and critical thinking skills Mechanical aptitude and good math skills Keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
