Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Machine Shop Helper and play a vital role in supporting precision machining operations. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside skilled machinists and fabricators, assisting with the setup, maintenance, and operation of various industrial equipment. Responsibilities Assist with the setup and operation of CNC machines, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC programming tools. Support the fabrication process by handling raw materials, tooling, and assembly components using hand tools and shop math. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and production documents to ensure accurate machining and fabrication. Perform basic measurements using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to verify dimensional accuracy. Maintain safety standards in production environments by adhering to safety protocols, inspecting equipment for hazards, and practicing proper handling of industrial machinery. Troubleshoot minor issues with industrial equipment including Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and tooling setups to minimize downtime. Assist in packaging finished products securely while ensuring quality control through visual inspections and dimensional measurements. Experience Prior experience working in a manufacturing oilfield machine shop is preferred. Familiarity with CNC machining processes. Knowledge of shop math and use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers. Hands-on experience with industrial equipment troubleshooting and factory safety standards is highly desirable. Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment is advantageous but not mandatory; training can be provided.
