Stella Industries is currently seeking the following:
Job Title:
CNC Plasma Operator (Bend-Tech Dragon A400) Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator to program, set up, and operate our Bend-Tech Dragon
A400 CNC
Plasma Cutting System . The ideal candidate will be responsible for high-precision structural components (round/square tubing, channel, and angle iron). This role requires a solid understanding of metal fabrication, plasma cutting technology, and specialized CAD/CAM software.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Machine Set-Up & Operation:
Set up the Dragon A400 by adjusting the self-centering chuck, manual/automatic gates, and material support lifters. Load raw material lengths (up to 24+ feet and weighing up to 400 lbs.) safely using overhead cranes or forklifts.
Software Implementation:
Import 3D CAD models (STEP/IGES files) into the Bend-Tech Dragon Software / Dragon CAD.
Quality Control:
Read and interpret structural fabrication drawings. Inspect finished tubes to ensure holes, notches, copes, miters, and bend location markings match print specifications within tolerance.
Routine Maintenance:
Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance according to the Bend-Tech Maintenance Schedule (e.g., cleaning the gate/part catcher, wiping dross, checking air filtration/dryers, and greasing the material support ball screws).
Required Skills & Qualifications Experience:
1-3+ years of experience operating CNC plasma cutters, tube lasers, or structural steel CNC equipment. Direct experience with Bend-Tech software is a major plus.
Technical Aptitude:
Proficient in reading Drawings and interpreting 3D structural modeling files. Basic knowledge of G-code troubleshooting is preferred.
Material Knowledge:
Familiarity with the cutting parameters of different metals (mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum) and geometric profiles (round, square, rectangular tubing, angle iron, and channel steel).
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 50+ lbs., stand for long periods, and safely operate material handling equipment around heavy structural stock. We offer 401K after 1-year, paid vacation, option to enroll in health insurance, dental & vision after 90 days. You must pass a drug test and physical prior to starting work.
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
