The ideal candidate will have hands-on machining experience, a strong understanding of blueprints and tolerances, and the ability to set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment. CNC programming experience is a plus but is not required. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work and can work effectively in a job shop environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Review blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and sample parts to determine setup requirements, dimensions, and tolerances of finished workpieces. Set up and operate CNC machining equipment. Set machine controls to regulate machining factors such as speeds, feeds, and cutting depth. Properly zero a vise in a CNC machine. Establish work offsets/zero points for machined blocks and parts. Square blocks and workpieces in CNC equipment. Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications and required tolerances. Make machine adjustments as necessary to maintain accuracy and quality. Set up and operate manual lathes and mills, including Bridgeport-style mills. Operate surface grinding equipment as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform other machining and shop duties as assigned. Job Requirements Previous machining experience with CNC and/or manual machining equipment. Experience using lathes and mills, including Bridgeport-style mills. Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, drawings, and sketches. Understanding of machining dimensions and tolerances. Ability to perform basic CNC machine setup, including vise alignment, work offsets, and squaring material. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality. Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines. Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication skills. Willingness to be flexible with shift assignments as the company grows. Preferred Qualifications Job shop machining experience. Experience setting up and operating manual lathes. CNC programming experience, particularly with Fadal CNC equipment . Experience operating a surface grinder. Experience performing machine setups and machining parts from start to finish.
