Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Job Shop Lead CNC and Manual Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the operation of both CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and manual machining equipment, ensuring precision, quality, and efficiency in all production processes. Your expertise will drive the successful setup, programming, and operation of a variety of machining tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and other manual machines. You will lead by example, mentoring team members and maintaining a safe, organized workspace that promotes continuous improvement. Duties Set up and operate CNC milling machines, lathes, grinders, and manual machining tools with precision and attention to detail Program CNC machines using G-code and conversational programming. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to ensure parts meet specifications Conduct measurement and quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and tolerances Perform machine calibration, alignment, and troubleshooting to optimize performance and maintain high-quality output Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications for precise machining requirements Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols during machine setup and operation Assist in training junior operators on manual machining techniques and CNC programming fundamentals Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements for efficiency and quality Experience Proven experience as a CNC machinist or manual machine operator in a manufacturing or job shop environment Strong proficiency with CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CNC G-code programming is essential Familiarity with CAD software such as DraftSIght helpful Hands-on experience with machining tools including lathes, mills, grinders, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret geometric tolerances (GD&T) for precise manufacturing Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machine setup procedures for CNC lathe and milling machines Basic math skills for calculating measurements, tolerances, feeds, speeds, and dimensions in machining operations Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime Prior experience with manufacturing quality control processes related to measurement accuracy and inspection standards Join us using your expertise to help us deliver precision parts that meet the highest standards of excellence. Pay:
$23.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 48.0 per week
