Job Description

CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift (1099 Independent Contractor Opportunity!)
Pay:
$26.00/hr + $1.00 shift differential = $27.00/hr
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday, 2:15 PM-12:45 AM (4×10s)
Training:
Will train on 1st Shift (Mon-Fri)
Preferred Experience:
Mill 3‑axis & 5‑axis experience Requirements (Must Meet to Be Considered) High School Diploma or equivalent 1+ year CNC experience preferred Ability to read blueprints, job orders & precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers) Ability to lift 25 lbs Ability to stand for 90% of the shift Strong hand‑eye coordination Ability to follow written & verbal instructions Basic math skills (add/subtract) Must follow all safety guidelines & wear required PPE Flexibility to rotate job assignments within various work cells About the Role We're looking for a driven CNC Machinist who enjoys hands‑on work, precision machining, and keeping production running smoothly. As a 1099 independent contractor , you'll bring your expertise to a team that values craftsmanship, efficiency, and quality. Roles & Responsibilities Set up, layout, and operate CNC lathes and/or mills Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, dimensions, tolerances & tooling instructions Select, position, and secure tools in holders Secure workpieces using chucks, fixtures, centers, or machine tables Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut Start machines, monitor operations, and verify part conformity Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers) Maintain a clean, organized work area (5S) Follow all company rules and safety policies Communicate diagram or production errors with supervisors/engineers Perform assembly‑type functions using hand/power tools Adjust, trim, and fit parts to close tolerances Follow visual aids/standard work Perform testing on assembled products Package finished goods, print labels, insert protective materials Meet efficiency and quality standards Report defective materials or questionable conditions Rotate job assignments within various work cells Perform additional duties as assigned Physical Needs Lift up to 25 lbs Stand for 90% of the shift Strong hand‑eye coordination Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain focus
