This role is perfectly suited for a professional with a background in setting up and operating large horizontal mills, specifically those who are adept at managing substantial, heavy components. You will be engaged in a hands-on capacity, performing intricate setups, editing and programming CNC machinery, analyzing blueprints, and utilizing precision measurement tools to manufacture large-scale industrial parts. This is authentic heavy machining that moves beyond simple fixture-based tasks. You will be tasked with executing complex setups, such as 3-point configurations and managing parts in a relaxed state, all while adhering to precise operational guidelines. Compensation and Timing Hourly rate ranging from $25.00 to $35.00, commensurate with your professional background and skills. Full-time availability for both Day Shift and Night Shift schedules. Core Duties Manage the operation of large-scale CNC horizontal milling machines and auxiliary equipment. Execute setups for massive workpieces by strictly following provided technical instructions. Perform 3-point setups to ensure parts are positioned correctly in a relaxed state. Analyze and translate engineering blueprints and technical machining requirements. Handle CNC programming tasks and perform necessary edits to machine code. Adjust setup parameters to enhance the efficiency of machining processes. Utilize precision tools to inspect finished components for accuracy. Apply ID/OD micrometers, calipers, and other measurement devices to verify quality. Confirm that all dimensions align with strict project specifications. Adhere to all established safety protocols to foster a secure environment for the entire team. Contribute to a tidy and organized workspace to promote operational safety. Operate with autonomy to maintain high standards of productivity and quality control. Professional Requirements Demonstrated history of operating large horizontal CNC milling machines. Extensive background in the setup of heavy, large-scale workpieces. Proven ability to execute 3-point setup configurations. Expertise in setting up parts in a relaxed state, moving beyond standard fixture reliance. Working knowledge of Fanuc control systems, including both 18M and 30iB versions. Capability to interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints. Skilled in the application of ID/OD micrometers and calipers for precise measurement. Solid grasp of fundamental CNC machining principles and setup techniques. Ability to identify and resolve machining or setup complications effectively. Capacity to function independently with minimal oversight to drive project success. Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the highest quality of output. Shop Floor Environment This position is based in a heavy manufacturing facility where you will be surrounded by large machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy components throughout your shift. Standard PPE is mandatory for all personnel. Please note that the facility environment fluctuates with the seasons, meaning you may encounter warmer temperatures in the summer and cooler conditions during the winter months. Applicants should be prepared for the physical requirements of a large-scale machining shop and feel comfortable working in close proximity to heavy industrial hardware.
