Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 2nd Shift CNC Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining various CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce high-quality precision parts. Your expertise will ensure efficient production processes, adherence to safety standards, and top-tier quality control. Duties Operate CNC milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment such as CNC lathe and CNC milling machines with precision and efficiency Set up CNC machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and programming using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and CNC programming techniques Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files to ensure accurate manufacturing of parts Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments as needed to maintain optimal performance Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment; assist with fabrication, assembly line tasks, or packaging as required Maintain accurate documentation of machine setups, production runs, inspections, and quality checks in shift reports Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or stamping presses in a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CAM programming, and CNC programming skills Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T specifications for precise machining Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in tooling setup, fixture installation, welding, fabrication, and the use of hand tools Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programs is preferred Knowledge of quality control procedures using calipers, micrometers, micrometer gauges, and other precision measuring instruments Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during setup and inspection processes Factory or manufacturing facility experience emphasizing safety standards and materials handling procedures Valid forklift certification is a plus; familiarity with flexo presses or stamping presses is advantageous Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively on an assembly line or within a team environment Join us as a 2nd Shift CNC Operator where your technical expertise drives manufacturing excellence!
