Job Description

  • CNC Machinist / Programmer in Winston-Salem!
  • 1st & 2nd Shifts Available (Monday-Thursday)

  • Job Description
  • This role focuses on setting up, operating, and programming advanced CNC machinery, including 7-axis and Swiss-style lathes, to produce high-quality metal components. You will use precision measuring instruments to verify part quality, optimize machine performance, and support a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment on either day or night shift.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Set up, operate, and program CNC machinery, including 7-axis machines and Swiss-style lathes such as Star and Citizen models.
+ Select, lay out, and install appropriate tooling for each job and adjust tool offsets to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy. + Troubleshoot and optimize machine setups and CNC programs to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and ensure consistent production. + Interpret and work from engineering blueprints, drawings, and specifications to produce parts to required tolerances. + Apply G and M codes and GD&T principles when programming and setting up CNC machines. + Perform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, comparators, and other precision measuring instruments. + Work with metals such as steel, brass, and aluminum, selecting appropriate speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies. + Use CAM software, SPC tools, and data collection systems to monitor process capability and maintain quality standards. + Maintain a clean and organized work area in a climate-controlled environment, following all safety and quality procedures. + Collaborate with team members to resolve machining issues and share best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Minimum of 2+ years of experience in CNC setup and operation, with experience in programming strongly preferred.
+ Hands-on experience operating and setting up CNC lathes, including Swiss-style lathes. + Ability to program CNC machines using G and M codes. + Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and applying GD&T. + Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators. + Experience adjusting tool offsets and optimizing machining parameters. + Proficiency with CAM software for programming and toolpath generation. + Experience using SPC tools and data collection systems to monitor quality and process performance. + Ability to work with metals including steel, brass, and aluminum. + Capability to stand for extended periods (8-12 hours per shift). + Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repetitively and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs throughout a shift.
