Position Summary The CNC Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating computer numerical control (CNC) machinery to produce parts and components according to production schedules, blueprints, work instructions, and quality specifications. The position requires attention to detail, basic mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate assigned CNC machines and related production equipment. Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely and correctly. Review work orders, blueprints, drawings, specifications, and production instructions before beginning work. Monitor machine operation, feed rates, tooling, and production processes to ensure consistent output. Perform quality inspections using appropriate measuring instruments, gauges, calipers, and other tools. Identify and report defects, machine problems, tooling issues, or deviations from specifications to the supervisor. Make routine machine adjustments and basic programming or offset edits when trained and authorized. Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, chip removal, and basic preventive maintenance of CNC equipment. Maintain accurate production, quality, and machine-operation records as required. Follow all company safety policies, machine operating procedures, and applicable PPE requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Participate in required training, safety meetings, and continuous improvement activities. Work cooperatively with supervisors, machinists, production employees, and other team members. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade-school training in machining is preferred. Previous CNC, machining, manufacturing, or machine-operation experience preferred; relevant technical training may be considered in place of experience. Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, mechanical drawings, work instructions, and specifications. Basic knowledge of CNC machine operation and machining practices. Basic understanding of G-code/M-code or CNC programming is preferred. Ability to use basic measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges. Strong basic math skills, including measurement, fractions, decimals, and basic geometry. Good computer skills and ability to learn machine-control interfaces and production software. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, reliability, and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive movements as required. Ability to lift and carry materials and parts consistent with the requirements of the position. Work may take place in a manufacturing or machine-shop environment with noise, machinery, metal chips, dust, and changing temperatures. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other PPE as applicable.

Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
