In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC Swiss lathes to produce precision metal components. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology and contribute to the creation of complex, high-precision parts for various industries. Duties Set up CNC Swiss lathes by installing tooling, fixtures, and programming the machines according to specifications. Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code, and CAM programming software to optimize machining processes. Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing. Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools for quality control. Conduct manual machining operations such as turning, milling, grinding, and drilling as needed for tooling or prototype development. Troubleshoot machine issues and perform routine maintenance to maintain optimal machine performance. Maintain detailed setup documentation and ensure compliance with lean manufacturing principles for efficiency improvements. Requirements Proven experience operating CNC Swiss lathes with a strong understanding of CNC G-code programming and M-code functions. Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming tools. Knowledge of machining tools including grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling setup procedures. Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret mechanical blueprints with GD&T specifications. Mechanical knowledge related to metal machining processes including CNC milling machines, lathe operations, bore gauges, and measurement instruments. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precise measurements using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Basic math skills for calculating dimensions and tolerances necessary for quality assurance. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency in production workflows. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
