Job Description

Modern Forge, Piney Flats, TN, is accepting applications for a CNC Operator. Under the supervision of the Die Shop Foreman, the CNC Operator will be responsible for ensuring Forge Dies are machined quickly and accurately through visual and dimensional verification using a variety of tools such as: calipers, micrometers, indicators, milling machines, and surface grinders, among others. After 30 days of service, you become eligible for company paid holidays. After 3 months of service, you become eligible for participation in our medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage. After 6 months of service, you are eligible for vacation pay. After 30 days of service, you become eligible for company paid holidays. After 3 months of service, you become eligible for participation in our medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage. After 6 months of service, you are eligible for vacation pay. Responsibilities Care of measuring instruments Job (part) inspection Job (part) documentation Identification of cutters Operation of Machines Basic care of machines Set up and tear down of work in Machines Company goals awareness and responsibility (5S, Quality Objectives) 13. G&M code recognition. Ability to use overhead crane. Ability to operate forklift. Complete all applicable safety training. Perform daily 5S sustain activities to keep work areas clean and orderly at all times. Follow all company safety requirements. Other duties as assigned by Tool Shop Supervision. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED is required. Print reading ability Ability to read basic precision measuring instruments Basic shop math skills Basic computer skills (locating files, manual data entry). Machining experience in an industrial setting and/or related education preferred. VTL Late experience preferred Additional Requirements Final candidates will be required to undergo a background check and a drug screening as part of the hiring process Schedule 3rd Shift Overtime Weekends as needed
