Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented 5-Axis CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate advanced 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce complex precision components. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling setup, and machine operation will ensure high-quality output and adherence to strict specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD/CAM software, and experience working within a manufacturing environment focused on precision machining. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative fabrication projects in a dynamic factory setting. Duties Set up and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are maintained throughout production runs. Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to accurately machine parts. Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, such as SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM tools, to generate precise tool paths. Conduct routine inspections using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to verify dimensions. Adjust machine parameters and tooling setups based on inspection results to meet tight tolerances. Maintain proper documentation of machining processes, tool changes, and quality checks for traceability. Collaborate with team members on materials handling, fabrication tasks, and assembly line support as needed. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery, including Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Assist in the setup and operation of auxiliary equipment such as press brake machines, stamping presses, or welding stations when required. Follow safety protocols diligently while working with heavy machinery like forklift trucks or fabrication tools. Requirements Proven experience operating 5-axis CNC milling machines in a manufacturing or factory environment. Proficiency with CNC programming languages and CAM software; experience with Fanuc controls is highly desirable. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawing interpretation. Knowledge of machining processes including CNC lathe operations, fabrication techniques, and tooling selection. Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar design tools for part modeling and programming. Ability to use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators accurately. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills involving hand tools, tooling setup, and basic machine maintenance. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is advantageous. Warehouse experience or familiarity with materials handling procedures is a plus. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments. Strong commitment to quality control standards and safety regulations within a manufacturing facility. If you are passionate about precision machining and eager to work with advanced manufacturing technology in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply today. Join our team as a vital contributor to innovative fabrication projects that demand excellence in craftsmanship.
