Job Description
About Urban Manufacturing Urban Manufacturing is a precision CNC machining and assembly company founded in 1978, generating approximately $40 million in annual sales. Operating across two locations—our primary facility in Pewaukee and a sister site in Brookfield—our nearly 200 team members produce parts for the aerospace, medical equipment, and power distribution markets. Position Summary We are seeking entry-level (level 1) or experienced (level 2) CNC Machine Operators to safely run CNC equipment, perform quality inspections, and support production goals. Placement into Level 1 or Level 2 depends on your current experience with tool changes, offset adjustments, and blueprint complexity. Key Responsibilities Load/unload parts and run pre-set CNC Mills and/or Lathes efficiently. Monitor part quality using precision metrology tools (dial calipers, micrometers, and advanced inspection gauges) to verify dimensions against drawings. Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings (including GD&T for experienced operators). Perform simple tooling changes and machine offset adjustments to keep parts within strict tolerances. Maintain a safe, organized workspace (5S standards) and promptly address or report defects, tool wear, or errors. Work with setup, supervisors, and quality personnel. Qualifications Prior CNC experience is preferred, but entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and basic blueprint/measuring tool knowledge are encouraged to apply. Strong attention to detail, high commitment to quality, reliable attendance, and a positive team attitude. Bilingual is a plus but not required.
