Job Title:
CNC Mill Programmer Job Description This role focuses on programming and supporting CNC mills in a manufacturing environment, using Mastercam and Haas controls to produce high‑quality machined parts. You interpret blueprints, create efficient programs, and collaborate closely with machining and setup personnel to ensure accurate, repeatable production. Responsibilities Program CNC mills using Mastercam to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and blueprints. Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve cycle times, tool life, and overall machining efficiency. Work with Haas CNC mills, configuring machine parameters and verifying that programs run safely and correctly. Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining strategies, tooling requirements, and setup instructions. Collaborate with machinists and CNC setup personnel to ensure smooth handoff of programs and proper machine setup. Support CNC machining and lathe operations by providing accurate programs and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Perform test runs, verify part dimensions, and adjust programs to meet quality and tolerance requirements. Maintain organized program files and documentation to support repeat production and continuous improvement. Contribute to a clean and orderly shop environment by following established processes and safety practices. Essential Skills Proven experience programming CNC mills, including hands‑on work with machining and CNC setup. Mastercam programming experience, with familiarity in the specified Mastercam version preferred. Practical experience working with Haas CNC mills and their control systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for machining operations. Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds. Experience supporting both mill and lathe operations in a manufacturing setting. Attention to detail and ability to verify part dimensions and make precise program adjustments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with the specified Mastercam version is preferred and considered a strong asset. Bilingual Spanish language skills are preferred but not required. Ability to collaborate effectively with shop personnel and communicate clearly about machining requirements. Why Work Here? Work is performed on first shift, operating CNC mills—particularly Haas machines—supported by Mastercam programming. You collaborate with machinists and setup personnel on the shop floor, using standard machining tools and equipment in a structured, process‑driven setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Monte, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
