Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNS Mill Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and executing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs for complex milling operations on 5-axis CNC machines. Your expertise in CAD/CAM software, precision measurement, and mechanical blueprint interpretation will drive efficiency and quality in our metal machining processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology, contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives, and ensure the highest standards of precision and craftsmanship. Duties Develop and modify CNC milling programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent tools to produce intricate parts with tight tolerances. Program 5-axis CNC machines, including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, ensuring optimal tool paths and machining strategies for complex geometries. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to accurately translate design intent into machine instructions. Set up machining tools and fixtures, ensuring proper tooling selection based on project requirements; utilize CNC tooling databases effectively. Conduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part accuracy and adherence to quality standards. Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling wear, or machine calibration; implement improvements aligned with lean manufacturing principles. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, inspection reports, and process adjustments for continuous improvement initiatives. Experience Proven experience programming CNC milling machines, particularly 5-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA; experience with CAD/CAM integration is highly desirable. Knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems is essential for effective programming and troubleshooting. Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical blueprint interpretation to ensure precise manufacturing outcomes. Hands-on experience with measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMMs, and other precision instruments for quality control. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes and reduce waste while maintaining high-quality standards. Mechanical knowledge related to metal machining processes such as electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC tooling setup, and machining tool selection is preferred. Join us as a CNS Mill Programmer where your technical expertise will directly impact our production excellence! We value innovation, precision craftsmanship, and continuous improvement—qualities that drive our success every day.
