Responsibilities Develop and write CNC programs for 3-axis CNC milling machines using CAD/CAM software such as EZ-MILL, or similar tools. Interpret mechanical drawings, notes, customer specification documents, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure accurate machining processes. Occasionally Setup and calibrate CNC milling machines, including tool selection, fixture setup, and machine parameter adjustments to optimize machining efficiency. Perform tooling selection and setup for various materials, ensuring compatibility with CNC tooling and machining requirements. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part accuracy. Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling wear, or machine performance; implement corrective actions promptly. Collaborate with customers on design modifications and provide feedback for manufacturability improvements. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, inspection reports, and process improvements aligned with lean manufacturing principles. Qualifications Experience with CAM software for programming complex parts. Proven experience programming CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls is a plus Deep understanding of drawing reading, GD&T standards. Knowledge of CNC tooling selection, setup procedures, and machining tool geometry for metalworking applications. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in manufacturing environments involving CNC machining processes. Ability to operate measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control. Strong math skills essential for programming calculations and measurement analysis; understanding of engineering schematics required.
