In this role, you will be responsible for developing, programming, and optimizing CNC lathe machines to produce precision-engineered components. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling setup, and mechanical blueprint interpretation will drive efficiency and quality in our machining processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced CNC equipment, including multi-axis CNC lathes, and contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions that meet rigorous quality standards. Duties Develop and write CNC programs for lathe machines using Haas/ Fanuc control systems, ensuring precise adherence to engineering specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to accurately machine components. Set up CNC lathes by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters to optimize machining operations. Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Mastercam for designing parts and verifying dimensions prior to machining. Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, and other measurement instruments to ensure parts meet quality standards. Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling wear, or machine performance; perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment. Program using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software for complex machining operations involving 3D surfaces. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and inspection results for quality control purposes. Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD design modifications and process improvements for metal machining projects. Experience Proven experience programming CNC lathes with Fanuc control systems in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC tooling selection, setup procedures, and machining toolpath optimization. Hands-on experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks; familiarity with CATIA is a plus. Skilled in interpreting mechanical blueprints and schematics with GD&T specifications for precision manufacturing. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is advantageous but not required. Familiarity with measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measurement instruments. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in machining processes. Mechanical knowledge related to metalworking tools, geometry calculations, and schematic reading is essential. Experience working with 5-axis CNC machines or CNC milling machines is preferred but not mandatory.
