The Role We are looking for a top-tier 5-axis machinist who can take a job from model and print all the way to an approved first article — program it, set it up, prove it out, and run it. This is not a load-and-go position. You will own our most complex prototype and new-program work, and you will help turn proven prototype processes into efficient, repeatable palletized production. requirements Machine complex, tight-tolerance parts in aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and other aerospace alloys. Reduce cycle times and build robust processes that transition cleanly from prototype to palletized production Perform in-process inspection and hold tolerances to +/- 0.0005 and tighter where required Document setups, programs, and work instructions in ProShop so jobs repeat right every time Mentor operators and developing machinists, and help raise the skill level of the whole shop Maintain 5S, safety, and ITAR data-handling standards What You Bring 5+ years of CNC machining experience, including 3+ years on 5-axis machining centers Demonstrated ability to program 5-axis parts in a CAM system (Mastercam, Fusion, hyperMILL, Esprit, or similar) Strong blueprint reading and working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) Proficiency with precision measuring tools: micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, and thread gauges Experience with Haas and/or Fanuc-based controls, including G-code editing at the machine A track record of first-pass quality and ownership of results, not just parts off the machine Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Preferred Experience in an AS9100 or defense/aerospace shop AS9102 first article inspection experience Fixture design experience Military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply Eligibility This position requires access to technical data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
