software Mechanical drawings Holding fixtures proficiency CNC G-code Programming Milling machines Technical troubleshooting support Production troubleshooting Full Job Description Position Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to take ownership of programming, setup, operation, and process optimization for our 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling operations. This is not a production role running the same parts repeatedly. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys programming complex aerospace components, solving manufacturing challenges, and continuously improving machining processes in a high-mix, low-volume environment. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in Mastercam programming and comfortable owning projects from material selection through final inspection. What You'll Do Program, setup, and operate 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling machines using Mastercam Develop efficient machining strategies, tool paths, fixtures, and workholding solutions Optimize cycle times, tooling, setups, and overall manufacturing processes Support and leverage automation cells for lights-out manufacturing and production efficiency Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements Perform in-process inspections and self-verification of finished components Maintain compliance with AS9100 quality standards and documentation requirements Collaborate with machinists, programmers, inspectors, and leadership to solve technical challenges Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements Support continuous improvement initiatives across the shop Assist with lathe operations when needed (preferred but not required) Required Qualifications 5+ years of CNC milling experience 2+ years of Mastercam programming experience Experience programming and setting up 3-axis, 4-axis, and/or 5-axis CNC mills Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading Experience developing setups, fixtures, tooling strategies, and machining processes Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teammates Excellent communication and accountability Preferred Qualifications Aerospace manufacturing experience AS9100 experience High-mix, low-volume machining experience Automation cell experience Live-tooling CNC lathe experience Fixture design experience Lights-out manufacturing experience Experience machining complex prototype components
