A CNC Programmer programs computer-controlled equipment used to cut wood, plastic, or metal according to precise measurements, or equipment used for different manufacturing processes.
Overview We are looking for a high-level CNC Setup Machinist / Programmer who can independently take complex parts from print to finished product. This is a hands-on shop-floor role for someone who is highly skilled in CNC setup and machining but also has the programming ability to develop, modify, and troubleshoot programs. Candidates should be comfortable writing and editing G-code directly at the machine as well as creating programs using Mastercam or similar CAM software . The majority of the shop's turning work is performed on 2•and 3-axis CNC lathes , with additional 4•and 5-axis CNC milling capabilities .

Stainless steel and aluminum, held to tight aerospace tolerances You can specialize in mills, specialize in lathes, or run both•any of the three works for us. Responsibilities Independently set up and operate CNC lathes and mills . Program, edit, and troubleshoot G-code directly at the machine . Create and modify CNC programs using Mastercam or similar CAM software . Take parts from print through programming, setup, prove-out, and production . Select tooling, workholding, speeds/feeds, and machining strategies. Perform first-piece prove-outs and make necessary program or setup adjustments. Troubleshoot tooling, programming, setup, and part-quality issues. Read and interpret complex blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T . Optimize existing processes for cycle time, tool life, quality, and repeatability. Jump on a machine whenever needed to support setups, troubleshooting, or production. Required Qualifications Strong background as a CNC Setup Machinist with the ability to independently set up jobs. Strong G-code programming and editing skills at the machine . Experience programming with Mastercam or comparable CAM software . Strong experience with 2•and 3-axis CNC lathes . CNC milling experience; 4•and 5-axis experience is a plus . Strong knowledge of tooling, workholding, speeds/feeds, offsets, and machining fundamentals. Ability to work from prints and produce parts to tight tolerances.
