The 5-Axis CNC Programmer will work closely with the Engineering team to develop numerical control programs for contour-path machining of parts on automated machine tools. The role will utilize CAD/CAM software with a strong focus on process improvement, advanced cutting-tool technology, and machining optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong machining and shop-floor background with hands-on CNC programming experience. Essential Functions Operate technologically advanced CNC equipment and state-of-the-art machinery. Analyze engineering drawings, design models, and sketches to determine dimensions, cut configurations, tooling requirements, machine speeds, and feed rates based on shop processes, customer specifications, and machine capabilities. Calculate angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures and determine the sequence of operations required to machine parts. Create instruction sheets and geometric layouts outlining the sequence of operations and cutter setup to guide machine setup and operation. Revise CNC programs to correct errors and omissions and incorporate new technologies and methods to improve efficiency and meet customer delivery requirements. Implement corrective actions for parts resulting in non-conformances related to CNC programming. Practice 5S and follow all applicable safety guidelines. Monitor numerical displays on CNC control panels and compare them with process sheets to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machining speeds. Set and verify tools before positioning them in the mill using precision gauges and instruments, including a Zoller Pre-Setter. Assist with program development by running machines to debug and validate CNC programs. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications & Experience Must be a U.S. Person as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR-related data. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred. A High School Diploma or GED may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree based on relevant experience. 5+ years of CNC programming experience . Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and inspection reports. Proficiency with various CNC programming software packages. Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level. Ability to travel approximately 5-10% as required. Knowledge of Zoller Tool Management and Vericut software is preferred.
