Job Description

CNC Programmer Location:
Merritt Island, Florida Salary:
Starting at $110,000+ , based on experience
Relocation Assistance:
Available for the right candidate Help Build the Next Version of a Precision Machine Shop We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer who understands that great programming starts with understanding how parts are actually machined. This is an opportunity to join a precision manufacturing operation during an important period of growth and change. With new ownership and new leadership, the team is rebuilding processes, establishing standards, and creating a culture focused on quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement. You'll work on challenging precision components, including complex 5-axis aerospace parts and special alloys , while helping improve programming, cycle times, tooling, setup information, and overall machining performance. We're looking for someone who wants to do more than generate toolpaths. We want someone who understands the machine, understands the machining process, and wants to help build something better. What You'll Do Develop and optimize CNC programs for complex precision-machined components. Program 5-axis machining and other CNC equipment using CAMWorks . Work from engineering drawings, CAD models, blueprints, and technical specifications. Develop machining strategies based on machine capabilities, material characteristics, tooling, workholding, and part requirements. Provide clear and accurate setup and tooling information to senior machinists. Work directly with machinists to prove out programs and resolve machining challenges. Improve cycle times, tool life, setup efficiency, quality, and overall process reliability. Troubleshoot programming and machining issues. Maintain CNC programs, setup documentation, tooling information, and program revisions. Adapt as production priorities change in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. Contribute ideas and experience as the organization rebuilds and standardizes its machining processes. What We're Looking For 5+ years of CNC programming or comparable precision machining experience. Strong hands-on understanding of CNC machining—not just CAM software. Experience programming complex CNC equipment, ideally including 5-axis machining . Ability to understand a machine's capabilities and develop programs that can be successfully executed on the shop floor. Experience with CAMWorks or the ability to quickly transition from another advanced CAM platform. Working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD. Strong understanding of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, workholding, setup strategy, and machining fundamentals. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. Self-directed and comfortable working without constant supervision. The Person Who Will Succeed Here Technical ability matters, but so does how you work. We're looking for someone who is knowledgeable without believing they've learned everything there is to learn. You'll work with experienced machinists, so you need to be comfortable exchanging ideas, listening to feedback, and earning credibility on the shop floor. You should be curious, willing to continue learning, and interested in helping the entire team get better. Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the initiative and energy to help build and improve a growing manufacturing operation. An Environment Designed for Programming CNC programming requires concentration. Leadership understands that. While you'll occasionally support machinists and troubleshoot issues on the production floor, your primary responsibility is programming . Daily priorities are established up front, and the goal is to give programmers the uninterrupted time they need to solve difficult machining problems and produce accurate, efficient programs. You'll be hands-on when the situation requires it—but you won't be expected to spend your entire day reacting to interruptions. Why Consider This Opportunity? Starting salary of $110,000+ , based on experience Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates Challenging 5-axis aerospace machining Complex materials and technically interesting parts Opportunity to directly influence how machining processes are developed and improved Leadership that understands the importance of focused technical work Experienced machinists to collaborate with on the shop floor Opportunity to join during a period of investment, rebuilding, and cultural change If you're an experienced CNC Programmer who enjoys difficult machining problems, understands what happens beyond the computer screen, and wants an opportunity to help build a stronger manufacturing operation, we'd like to hear from you.
