Job Summary Summit Orthopedic Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior CNC Milling Programmer to join our growing manufacturing team in Naples, Florida. • and 5-axis CNC equipment. We are looking for a highly capable, hands-on programmer who can take a part from print/model through programming, setup, prove-out, and production . This is not strictly an offline programming position. The ideal candidate understands the entire machining process and is comfortable working directly with machines, tooling, fixtures, operators, engineering, and quality. Responsibilities Program complex 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling operations Create and optimize CNC programs using Autodesk Fusion 360 Develop complete machining processes from engineering drawings and 3D models Determine optimal tooling, workholding, setups, and machining strategies Design and develop fixtures, soft jaws, and workholding solutions Perform and support machine setups, prove-outs, and first-piece runs Troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, workholding, and surface-finish issues Optimize existing programs for cycle time, tool life, quality, and process reliability Develop efficient processes for machining titanium, cobalt chrome, stainless steel, and other medical-grade materials Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production to transition new parts into production Support setup personnel and operators with difficult or high-priority jobs Improve existing processes and identify opportunities for automation and increased machine utilization Maintain robust, repeatable manufacturing processes capable of meeting tight medical-device tolerances Qualifications Significant experience programming CNC milling machines Strong experience with 4-axis and 5-axis machining Advanced Fusion 360 CAM experience strongly preferred Ability to independently take a complex part from print/model to a proven production process Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings Strong knowledge of cutting tools, speeds and feeds, toolpath strategies, and workholding Hands-on CNC setup and prove-out experience Experience troubleshooting difficult dimensional and surface-finish problems Experience machining tight-tolerance precision components Experience with titanium, cobalt chrome, and stainless steel preferred Medical device, orthopedic, aerospace, or other high-precision manufacturing experience is a plus What We're Looking For We are looking for more than someone who can simply generate toolpaths. The right candidate should be able to look at a difficult component and determine how it should be manufactured , develop the process, program it, prove it out at the machine, troubleshoot problems, and improve the process once it reaches production. This position is ideal for an experienced programmer who enjoys solving difficult machining problems and wants significant ownership over how parts are manufactured.
