2nd Shift | 3:00 p.m. - 11:45 p.m. This isn't just another lead machinist position. It's an opportunity to help build something. Meyer Tool is expanding our machining department and launching a dedicated second shift to support continued growth. We're looking for an experienced CNC Machinist and Programmer who wants more than running parts—you'll help establish our second shift culture, mentor machinists, solve challenging manufacturing problems, and play a key role in shaping the future of our shop. We don't run thousands of identical production parts. Our machinists solve new manufacturing challenges every week, producing one-of-a-kind and short-run components for cryogenic, vacuum, pressure, and research applications. You'll work closely with engineers, welders, inspectors, and fellow machinists to bring complex ideas to life. Your Mission Lead our second shift by example. You'll spend part of your time programming, setting up, and machining complex parts while also coordinating workflow, mentoring machinists, solving production challenges, and ensuring quality and on-time delivery. This is a working leadership position where your experience, attitude, and technical expertise will directly influence the success of our growing machining department. What You'll Do Program complex components using Fusion 360 CAM Set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills and lathes Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency and quality Lead daily second-shift production activities Assign work and coordinate priorities Mentor developing machinists and CNC operators Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming challenges Collaborate with Engineering on manufacturability improvements Support continuous improvement initiatives Maintain exceptional quality and safety standards Help build a positive, accountable team culture Equipment You'll Work With Hurco 5-Axis Mills Hurco 3 & 4-Axis Mills Hurco TMM10 Turning Center Haas Mills & Lathes G&L Horizontal Boring Mill Manual Mills & Lathes Bullard VTL (experience a plus)
What We're Looking For Required:
5+ years CNC machining in a high-mix, low-volume environment Strong setup and troubleshooting experience CAM programming experience (Fusion 360 preferred) Blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities Positive, hands-on leadership style
Preferred:
