Type:
full-time The CNC Lead is responsible for setting up, programming, and running complex precision machining operations from raw material through finished components. This hands-on role requires expertise in CNC milling, turning, fixture design, tooling development, and process optimization. The CNC Lead will independently develop machining strategies, create fixtures and tooling using CAM software, and support high-quality production in a precision manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Set up, program, and operate CNC machining equipment to produce complex precision components. Manage complete machining processes from bar stock to finished part. Develop and design custom fixtures, workholding solutions, and tooling strategies. Create and modify CNC programs using CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360.
Support machining operations across:
3-axis milling 4-axis milling 3+2 machining 5-axis milling 2-axis CNC turning Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, quality, repeatability, and cycle times. Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining methods based on material and part requirements. Troubleshoot machining challenges involving tooling, fixturing, programming, and process performance. Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T requirements, and engineering specifications. Support production teams with setup guidance, process improvements, and technical expertise. Maintain a high standard of quality while meeting delivery requirements. Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience as a CNC Setup Machinist, CNC Programmer, or CNC Lead. Proven ability to independently set up and run complex CNC machining operations. Experience designing and producing fixtures and tooling. Experience programming with CAM software such as: Mastercam Fusion 360 Advanced knowledge of: CNC milling operations CNC turning operations Workholding and fixturing Tool selection and optimization Tight-tolerance machining Blueprint reading and GD&T Preferred Qualifications Experience in a precision machining or aerospace manufacturing environment. Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume production. Ability to lead machining improvements and mentor other machinists. Experience working with complex multi-axis CNC equipment.
Compensation & BenefitsBase Compensation Hourly Rate:
$50.00-$68.00/hour (based on experience and skill level)

Paid at 1.5x after 40 hours/week Annual Profit-Sharing Bonus Eligible employees may participate in an annual profit-sharing bonus program.
Maximum Bonus:
Up to $20,000 annually

Christmas Measurement Period:
December 1 - November 30 annually Bonus payout is based on company performance, including: Annual profitability Customer quality performance On-time delivery performance Bonus Performance Criteria Bonus eligibility requires meeting both company performance gates: On-Time Delivery (OTD) Composite customer on-time delivery performance must meet or exceed established company targets. Quality Performance Customer quality expectations must be maintained. No unacceptable customer quality ratings or escapes related to setup, fixturing, or process decisions under the employee's control. Additional Information Bonus program details are reviewed annually. First-year bonus eligibility may be prorated based on time worked during the measurement period. Position requires active employment at the time of payout. Compensation and bonus structure may vary based on company performance and business conditions.
