Job Description

VanSpeag Group (VSG) is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support precision machining operations in Plainfield, IL. This is a hands-on role for a programmer who can take parts from print to production with minimal oversight, working across both lathe and milling platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program CNC lathes and mills using Mastercam Develop, edit, and optimize toolpaths for efficiency and quality Set up, prove out, and troubleshoot new programs at the machine Select tooling, speeds, and feeds for a variety of materials Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications Support first-article inspection and continuous improvement efforts Collaborate with machinists, quality, and engineering teams

REQUIREMENTS

Proficiency in Mastercam (required) Strong proficiency in both lathe and milling programming/operation Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T Experience with setups, offsets, and program prove-outs Solid understanding of tooling, workholding, and machining best practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of CNC programming experience in a production or job shop environment Multi-axis machining experience a plus
