Programmer Indianapolis, IN | 1st Shift | Full-Time About the Role Aerodyn Engineering is looking for a CNC Programmer to design and write the CNC programs that turn a blueprint into a finished, flight-worthy part. You'll work primarily in Mastercam, translating specs and tooling instructions into efficient, high-quality machine processes — and you'll stay connected to the floor, occasionally running the lathe, mill, or grinder yourself to verify a program before it's released.

Write programs for CNC machinery (3-5 axis Mills and Lathes) using Mastercam, and occasionally operate the machines to verify programs. Purchase and prepare tooling for each job released to manufacturing. Assist CNC Machinists to troubleshoot set up and fixturing during machining. Evaluate lessons learned and project budgets with project managers to drive continual improvement. Prioritize a shifting daily workload across multiple active jobs. What Makes You a Fit Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred, or 4+ years of prior CNC programming experience. Deep familiarity with the capabilities and limitations of conventional and CNC machines, specifically with high temp alloys. Comfortable interpreting engineering and tool drawings independently. Strong mechanical aptitude and a creative approach to solving machining problems. Past experience in non-production, prototype only manufacturing environment. Strong oral and written communication skills — you'll work closely with estimators, PMs, and machinists. Self-directed and comfortable delivering under pressure to meet customer and management deadlines. Requirements High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred, or 4+ years prior CNC programming experience. Experience with the capabilities/limitations of conventional/CNC machines. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to develop creative solutions to problems. Familiarity with Epicor or similar ERP systems preferred. Strong PC skills, proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project). Strong oral and written communication skills. Self-directed, highly motivated, comfortable operating independently and within a team. Ability to comply with physical requirements.
