Job Description

CNC Lathe and Mill Programmer/Setup/Operator-3 years experience required. Looking for motivated individuals to program, set-up, and run our CNC lathes and CNC Vertical Mills. Will be setting up and running single piece as well as setting up and running short run (20-1000pc) production jobs. Projects vary from standard 2-D to complicated 3-D work. Materials used are crs, alum, stainless, alum-bronze, plastics, and occasional super-alloys. Open opportunities for CAM programming-setup positions as well! Positions available on 1st shift.
Summary:
Responsible for the safe operation, setup, and programming of CNC Equipment.
Essential Duties:
The following are the normal duties performed by this position. Other duties may be assigned.1. Operate, Setup, and program CNC Lathes and Machine Centers to produce the required number of correct parts in a timely manner. This can include operating multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously.2. Correctly set-up jobs in assigned equipment in a timely manner.3. Perform 1st piece, in-process and last piece inspection using micrometers, calipers, comparators, and various gauges as needed.4. Perform operator maintenance.5. Diagnose and correct equipment or tool issues.6. Perform de-burr or rework of work in-process.7. Make recommendations to optimize and improve assigned processes.8. Maintain organization of work stations to 5S standards.9. Perform all work according to C3 CNC safety standards.10. Comply with all C3 CNC policy and procedures.
Physical Conditions:
1. Lift, push and/or pull 50 pounds.2. Stand at least 95% of the scheduled shift.3. Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending and grasping in order to move and set tools, equipment and material.
Suggested Qualifications:
1. 2 years of prior essential duty related experience, including operation of CNC controlled relevant equipment.2. Understanding of machining, including x, y and z axis, along with edge and centerline pickup.3. Ability to use common measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.4. High school diploma or equivalent.5. Basic Blueprint reading skills to GD&T standard.6. Basic Windows and MS Office skills.7. Ability to perform basic math functions.
