Available Position Overview An established precision manufacturing organization in Clinton Township is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist for its day shift. This position is responsible for programming at the machine control, setting up and operating Haas vertical machining centers, proving out programs, and producing complex components to customer specifications. The company operates from clean, air-conditioned facilities and supports advanced aerospace, defense, satellite, national laboratory, aircraft and specialty-equipment programs. Key Responsibilities Set up, program and operate Haas CNC vertical machining centers. Create and edit CNC programs directly at the machine control. Use Mastercam to develop and modify machining programs. Complete machine, tooling and workholding setups. Load tools, establish offsets and verify setup accuracy. Prove out new programs safely and efficiently. Machine parts according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. Maintain tight dimensional and geometric tolerances. Interpret and apply GD&T requirements. Conduct in-process inspections using appropriate precision measuring instruments. Document inspection results accurately and maintain required production records. Identify machining, tooling or quality issues and implement appropriate corrections. Collaborate with machinists and project engineers to solve manufacturing problems. Complete machining operations within established process-time expectations. Safely operate material-handling equipment and overhead cranes. Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive-maintenance activities. Record labor and job activities accurately within the company's timekeeping system. Maintain a clean, organized and safety-focused work area. Required Qualifications At least five years of CNC machining experience. Demonstrated experience setting up CNC equipment and programming at the machine control. Ability to complete tool setups, establish offsets and prove out programs independently. Experience operating CNC vertical machining centers. Strong blueprint-reading and shop-math skills. Comprehensive understanding of GD&T. Experience holding tight tolerances and conducting in-process inspections. Familiarity with precision measuring equipment. Experience using material-handling equipment and overhead cranes. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Ability to work effectively with machinists, engineers and quality personnel. Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime when required. Preferred Qualifications Mastercam programming experience. Experience operating Haas vertical machining centers. Background producing aerospace, defense or other high-complexity precision components. Experience working within AS9100 or
ISO 9001
quality systems. Familiarity with low-volume, high-mix manufacturing. Candidates experienced with another CAM platform may be considered and provided Mastercam training.
