This position is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for complex machined components utilizing Siemens NX CAM software. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of CNC programming experience and a strong background programming directly at the machine as well as through CAM software. Experience with multi-axis machining, tooling strategies, and process improvements is highly preferred. Position Responsibilities Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Siemens NX CAM software Program 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining centers Develop machining strategies to improve cycle times, quality, and productivity Program directly at CNC machines when required for setup, prove-outs, and adjustments Troubleshoot machining issues and make program modifications to improve performance Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining processes Review engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and customer specifications Support first-piece inspections and program validation activities Work closely with machinists, engineers, and production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues Support new product launches and process improvement initiatives Maintain accurate program documentation and revision control Ensure compliance with all quality, safety, and manufacturing standards Technical Skills Siemens NX CAM Programming CNC Milling Programming 3-Axis, 4-Axis, and 5-Axis Machining G-Code & M-Code Programming Programming at the Machine Tool Selection and Cutting Tool Optimization Fixture Development and Workholding Concepts Blueprint Reading and GD&T Interpretation CAD Model Review Process Improvement and Cycle Time Reduction Root Cause Analysis and Troubleshooting Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment Minimum 5 years of programming directly at CNC machines Experience with Siemens NX CAM software required Strong understanding of CNC milling operations and machining practices Experience programming complex precision-machined components Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience supporting setup personnel and machinists during prove-outs Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Associate Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field Experience with PowerMill, WorkNC, Mastercam, or similar CAM software Experience programming 5-axis machining centers Prototype, aerospace, automotive, tooling, or mold manufacturing experience Experience with high-speed machining strategies Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience Work Schedule Monday through Friday Day Shift Occasional overtime as needed About Spark Talent Acquisition Spark Talent Acquisition is a Michigan-headquartered recruiting and staffing company that connects skilled professionals with leading employers.
