Louis, MO Salary:
$60,000 - $75,000 Position Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for milling and turning operations. The role focuses on translating engineering drawings and specifications into reliable G-code/CAM programs, improving cycle times and part quality, and supporting shop floor machining and setup activities. Key Responsibilities Develop, program, and simulate CNC mill/lathe operations from drawings and CAD/CAM models Convert blueprints and GD&T specs into accurate G-code/toolpaths Select tooling, feeds, and speeds for efficient machining Verify programs via simulation and dry runs to prevent collisions/scrap Coordinate with machinists on setup, fixturing, and tooling changes Optimize cycle times, finish, and tool life without sacrificing quality Troubleshoot shop-floor issues and revise programs as needed Maintain program libraries, tooling lists, and documentation Train/mentor operators and junior programmers on standards and safety Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and boost throughput Qualifications Proven CNC programming experience with accurate, efficient output Proficient in CAM/G-code; Fanuc, Heidenhain, or similar controllers preferred Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills Hands-on setup, fixturing, and tooling experience on mills/lathes Solid grasp of machining processes, cutting tools, and feeds/speeds Familiarity with mills, lathes, CNC equipment, and saws Quality-focused, with inspection tool experience Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude Good communicator, works well cross-functionally
