Job Description
CNC Programmer / Operator - 5-Axis CNC (Morbidelli M200) Charlotte, NC | On-Site Join a Growing Custom Millwork Manufacturer Ellis-Reid is a leading manufacturer of luxury architectural millwork and custom cabinetry serving premier builders, architects, and designers throughout the Southeast. As our business continues to grow, we're seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Operator to support our Microvellum-driven manufacturing operation. This position will be responsible for programming, setup, and operation of our Morbidelli M200 5-Axis CNC router, working closely with engineering and drafting to translate Microvellum-generated manufacturing data into accurate, high-quality machined components. Candidates with experience in custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, commercial casework, and integrated Microvellum/CNC workflows will be especially well suited for this role. Position Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate the Morbidelli M200 5-Axis CNC router.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs, tool paths, machining strategies, and cycle times.
- Review and validate manufacturing files prior to production.
- Process and troubleshoot Microvellum-generated manufacturing data.
- Select and maintain tooling to ensure optimal machining performance and quality.
- Perform machine setup, calibration, and routine maintenance.
- Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machine-related issues.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, production documents, and engineering specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering, drafting, and production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Maintain quality standards while supporting production schedules.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency. Qualifications Required
- Experience programming and operating CNC routers in a woodworking manufacturing environment.
- Experience with 5-axis CNC machining.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and production documentation.
- Working knowledge of CNC tooling, feeds, speeds, workholding, and machine setup.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Preferred
- Experience operating a Morbidelli M200 or similar SCM Group CNC equipment.
- Experience with Microvellum manufacturing software.
- Background in custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, commercial casework, or custom woodworking manufacturing.
- Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. What We're Looking For
