Position:
Architectural Millwork Drafter & CNC Programmer Location:
Bohemia, NY Company/Industry:
Well-established custom architectural millwork and cabinetry manufacturer
Schedule:
Mon-Fri 100% in-office
Salary:
$30-40/hour depending on experience, flexibility for the right candidate, benefits offered
Type:
Direct Hire Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD shop drawings (plans, elevations, sections, and assembly details) for architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, and retail display fixtures using AutoCAD and Inventor. Translate approved shop drawings into precise CNC machine code and tooling paths using Router-CIM or similar software for production. Work closely with clients, architects, project managers, and the shop production team to interpret design intent, hardware specs, and construction details. Incorporate team and client feedback to refine shop drawings, ensuring complete accuracy, structural integrity, and adherence to industry standards prior to manufacturing. Maintain meticulous digital records, revision histories, cut lists, and drawing files for seamless shop floor execution.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Proven background in architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, or retail store fixture drafting is required. Strong expertise in AutoCAD (required); experience with Autodesk Inventor and Router-CIM (or equivalent CNC programming software) is a plus. Solid understanding of woodworking construction methods, millwork materials, joinery, hardware integration, and CNC machining processes. Ability to accurately interpret architect plans, engineering schematics, and design specifications. Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both office staff and shop craftsmen.

Rate (Up to): $30.00 - $40.00
