In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and implementing CNC machine programs to produce precision components efficiently and accurately. Your expertise in CNC machining, CAD/CAM software, and blueprint interpretation will drive quality and productivity across our operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment, including 5-axis CNC machines and CNC lathes, in a dynamic manufacturing environment committed to excellence. Responsibilities Develop and write CNC programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD to translate engineering drawings into machine instructions. Set up CNC machining tools and fixtures on machines like CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, ensuring proper tooling selection based on project specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and schematics to ensure accurate manufacturing processes. Operate and program advanced CNC equipment including 5-axis CNC machines, ensuring optimal machining parameters for precision metal machining. Conduct precision measurements using measurement tools such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges to verify part dimensions meet quality standards. Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline machining workflows. Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling, or machine operation; adjust programs accordingly for continuous improvement. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setup procedures, measurement results, and quality control reports for traceability. Experience Proven experience programming CNC machines such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and CAM programming tools for creating precise toolpaths. Extensive knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems for machine operation and troubleshooting. Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical blueprint interpretation to ensure accurate part production. Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Knowledge of measurement techniques using precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMMs, and other measurement tools for quality assurance. Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to enhance productivity while maintaining high-quality standards.
