In this role, you will operate and set up Mazak CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including milling and lathe equipment, to produce high-quality metal components. Duties Set up and operate Mazak CNC machines, including milling machines and lathes, ensuring optimal performance for each job. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to accurately produce parts according to specifications. Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as Fanuc controls to automate machining processes. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools to verify part quality. Perform machine calibration, tooling changes, and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and high-quality output. Troubleshoot machining issues promptly, adjusting programs or setups as needed to minimize downtime. Conduct quality inspections on finished parts with CNC quality inspection tools to ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling manual tools, power tools, grinders, and other machining equipment. Skills Proven experience operating Mazak CNC machines or similar CNC milling and lathe equipment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code, M-code, and Fanuc controls. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and CAD/CAM files created in SolidWorks or other CAD software. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, tooling selection, machine setup, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control. Familiarity with manual machining techniques including lathe work, grinding operations, and hand tool usage. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and measurements essential for precision manufacturing. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency. Ability to troubleshoot CNC programs and machinery issues quickly while maintaining safety standards.
