POSITION SNAPSHOT
Join a precision machining team! As a contract manufacturer, we manufacture complex machined components with extremely tight tolerances for advanced technology applications. We are hiring across multiple experience levels, from CNC Operators with foundational machining knowledge to highly experienced CNC Lathe and CNC Mill Machinists capable of full setups and process optimization. WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A CNC MACHINIST / PROGRAMMER
Use advanced skills to develop 3 axis and 5 axis programs for machines based on solid models and drawings including 5-axis programming. Write programs at the machine controller using G Code. Work closely with the NPI team to develop methods for manufacturing of designs. Design and manufacture fixturing. Operate CNC lathes and/or mills to machine precision to customer specifications. Work with extremely close tolerances common in semiconductor manufacturing. Inspect parts using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and related inspection equipment Monitor dimensions and make tool wear or offset adjustments Perform first article inspections and complete inspection documentation Deburr and protect parts to prevent cosmetic or dimensional damage Assist operators in setup, tooling and troubleshooting. Continually improve cycle times, processes, setup and tooling. Provide input to estimators on machine run times, fixturing and tooling requirements. Maintain clean work areas and support preventative machine maintenance Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure customer requirements are met Train machinists as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, GED, trade school, or equivalent experience. 5-10 years experience operating CNC mills, lathes, CNC equipment and programming at the machine level. 5+ years CNC programming experience. Demonstrated proficiency using calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and height/depth gauges. Thorough understanding of blue prints and geometric tolerances. Functional understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Strong communications skills
Computer skills and knowledge of computer software used for Shop Floor Control/job tracking. Must be a self-starter & self-motivated. Ability to identify complex problems and related information to develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions. Strong ability to multi-task. Ability to work overtime as needed ITAR-sensitive position. Must be authorized to access export-controlled information under
U.S. ITAR
regulations.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT A
temperature-controlled production shop floor environment requiring sitting/standing for extended periods of time; occasional lifting of up to 25-60 lbs.; occasionally crouching or bending at the knees. Exposure to dirt and dust. Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, shields etc.) may be required. May operate moving equipment (forklift) as required to perform essential job functions. General shop environment with exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit, well-ventilated, and fast paced setting.
Workload may be unpredictable, and pressure increased during peak times. Critical deadlines require considerable flexibility and adaptability. Disturbances of workflow and/or irregularities in work schedule may occur on an intermittent basis. Extra hours may be required, sometimes on weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
