Job Description
Senior CNC Programmer - Multiaxis / Mill-Turn Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Programmer who can be productive from day one in a high-mix, precision manufacturing environment. This role requires deep hands-on experience with advanced multi-axis and multitasking CNC machines, including mill-turn and multi-stream platforms. The ideal candidate will own the manufacturing process from engineering review through first-article approval, working closely with operators and quality to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable production. Key Responsibilities Program complex 5-axis, mill-turn, multitasking, and multi-stream CNC machines Develop and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam Write and troubleshoot: Custom logic Probing cycles Macros (as required) Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications Lead setups and prove-out processes Support first article inspection (FAI) and ensure parts meet quality requirements Collaborate closely with operators to improve cycle time, reliability, and process stability Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process-related issues on the shop floor Recommend tooling, fixturing, and process improvements Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of hands-on CNC programming experience Strong experience with: 5-axis machining Mill-turn / multitasking machines Multi-stream programming Proficiency with Mastercam Experience writing probing routines and conditional logic Ability to independently take a job from engineering review through a production-ready process Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, tooling, and workholding Comfortable working directly on the shop floor with operators and inspectors Preferred Qualifications Experience with complex, tight-tolerance parts Experience in job-shop or high-mix environments Strong problem-solving and communication skills
