In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC machine programs to ensure high-precision metal machining processes. Your expertise will drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement in our manufacturing operations. Duties Develop and write CNC programs for various machining centers, including CNC lathes, milling machines, and 5-axis CNC machines using CAM software and CAD tools such as AutoCAD and master cam. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure accurate manufacturing processes. Setup and operate CNC tooling and machining tools, ensuring optimal tool paths and machining parameters for metal components. Conduct precision measurement using bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments to verify part dimensions and quality standards. Collaborate with design engineers to optimize manufacturing processes through lean manufacturing principles, reducing waste while maintaining quality. Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling wear, or machine performance; perform root cause analysis to implement corrective actions. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, tooling setups, measurement results, and process improvements to support continuous enhancement initiatives. Experience Proven experience programming CNC machines such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or 5-axis CNC machines within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages (Fanuc preferred), CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and CAM software for toolpath generation. Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Familiarity with blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), and schematic interpretation for mechanical components. Mechanical knowledge related to metal machining processes including tooling selection and setup. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Ability to interpret engineering schematics and schematics related to CNC tooling setups and machine configurations.
