This role leads the full range of powder-coating operations, from surface prep through final finish, on structures, equipment, and metal components, while providing guidance and oversight to the coating team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in an active plant environment. Morning Shift, Monday to Friday $28.00 to $30.00 per hour
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the preparation and powder-painting of a variety of surfaces including steel, aluminum, shop-coated metal, uncoated metal, and finished hardware/accessories Direct the application of protective powder coating to equipment and miscellaneous metalwork Set up and adjust equipment settings and air pressure for powder coating application, ensuring proper calibration across the line Oversee loading of powder paint into the coating equipment Direct spray application onto work surfaces, determining the proper amount of powder to apply and correcting technique as needed Lead quality control efforts by identifying parts for inspection and ensuring finish standards are consistently met Train, guide, and support team members on proper powder-coating techniques and safety practices Update travelers and input job data as required, ensuring accuracy across the team's output Maintain and enforce workplace housekeeping standards to ensure a safe, clean work environment Other duties as instructed
Requirements:
At least 5 years of painting/powder coating Prior experience leading, training, or mentoring a small team preferred Understanding of safe use, storage, and disposal of paints, cleaning products, and chemicals Ability to read and understand painting documents Powder-paint experience
