Boat Detailer - Marine Detailing Technician Bilbos Marine - Boynton Beach, FL Bilbos Marine is looking for an experienced, dependable Boat Detailer to join our growing marine service team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can work efficiently without being constantly supervised, and understands what a properly finished boat should look like. This position includes everything from routine detailing to heavy oxidation correction, compounding, polishing, waxing, and ceramic coating preparation/application. Responsibilities Wash, clean, and professionally detail boats of various sizes Compound and polish gelcoat to remove oxidation, haze, and imperfections Apply waxes, sealants, and marine ceramic coatings Detail hulls, topsides, decks, hardtops, consoles, compartments, and stainless Clean and protect vinyl, cushions, plastics, and other marine surfaces Perform multi-step paint/gelcoat correction when necessary Inspect boats before beginning work and identify areas requiring additional attention Maintain detailing equipment, pads, polishers, chemicals, and work areas Work efficiently while maintaining a consistently high standard of quality Communicate with management regarding job progress, issues, or additional work discovered What We're Looking For Previous professional boat detailing experience strongly preferred Experience with rotary and/or dual-action polishers Understanding of gelcoat correction, oxidation removal, polishing, and protection Ceramic coating experience is a major plus Strong attention to detail Reliable transportation Ability to work outdoors in South Florida conditions Comfortable working on ladders, docks, lifts, and around boats Able to work independently and stay productive throughout the day Dependable communication and attendance Someone who takes ownership of the finished product Automotive detailing experience is helpful, but marine detailing experience is preferred. We are especially interested in applicants who already understand the difference between simply making a boat clean and properly restoring and finishing gelcoat.
