Welding Full Job Description OverviewPosition Overview:

We are a locally owned and operated full-service Classic and Muscle Car shop specializing in the repair, restoration and modernization of American muscle cars seeking a front office assistant. Currently, we are not looking for apprentices, entry level techs or productions painters. This position is for an experienced, high-end painter only. We are a restoration shop not a collision shop and we treat our work as such. Applicants must have prior experience with classic cars, custom cars or restorations. The ability to straighten classic cars with filler and primer to produce a show quality fit and finish is a must. We have established a standard operating procedure and do not deviate from it as we demand the best results possible. Autobody Paint Technician works directly with the Shop Owner/Manager to create an exceptional experience for our customers engaged in the classic car pastime. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' experience. This role is responsible for helping the body shop team in prepping for painting, which includes color changes, full paint jobs, blends, body work, frame/body pulling, panel replacement, glass, trim, fitting, and assembly and disassembly of vehicles as needed. The ability to approximate and provide accurate time frames is necessary. The ideal candidate must be a team player. We are a very well-equipped updated shop with very loyal customers, 2 downdraft baking paint booths, 13 bays, tire and wheel machines, an alignment machine, as well as multiple high-end fabrication machines. This is a full-time position, daytime Monday

• Install and adjust parts in the most productive way possible.

• Work closely with team members on best practices
• Observe, learn and focus on what senior body shop employees are teaching
• Follow safety practices and procedures

• Prepping bare metal vehicles for epoxy primer
• Application and hand block sanding of body filler
• Body panel alignment and precise panel gapping
• Fiberglass work
• Hand block sanding vehicles in primer in preparation for paint
• General knowledge and experience with classic cars to assemble and disassemble panels during the body work process
• Application of solvent base coats and urethane clearcoats
• Color sanding and buffing to a show quality level
• Final detailing of high-end paint work and vehicles
• The ability to cut, fit and weld panels Minimum Qualifications
• Experience in bodywork, paint, panel replacement, blending, etc is a must
• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
• Professional set of mechanics hand tools. Specialty tools supplied.
• Strong autobody materials and methods knowledge
• Oral and written communication skills
• Valid driver's license
• Must be able to work during summer, stand and work for periods of time, lift up to 35 lbs
