$40/hr Updated 07/2026 Job Description Overview $40/hr Job Summary Applying primers, sealers, and protective paint coatings to prevent corrosion. Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and treating them before coating. Reading engineering drawings and work instructions to ensure materials are applied correctly. Vacuum bonding thermal protection materials to aircraft or spacecraft components. This process uses vacuum pressure to create a strong, void-free bond between the TPS material and the structure. Mechanical bonding using adhesives, fasteners, or other approved attachment methods. Applying TPS materials using: Spray application - spraying insulating or ablative coatings. Pour application - pouring foam or other insulating compounds into designated areas where they cure in place. Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1 year of experience in aerospace painting, coatings, composites, bonding, manufacturing, or a related production environment. Experience applying organic coatings, primers, sealants, or protective finishes using brush, roller, and spray application methods. Ability to perform surface preparation, including cleaning, masking, sanding, and paint preparation. Experience or willingness to learn vacuum bonding and mechanical bonding techniques for Thermal Protective Systems (TPS). Ability to apply Thermal Protective Systems using spray and pour application methods. Ability to read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings, specifications, process work instructions, and manufacturing documentation. Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality workmanship in accordance with engineering and quality standards. Knowledge of corrosion prevention methods and proper coating application techniques is preferred. Ability to safely handle paints, coatings, adhesives, and other aerospace manufacturing materials. Must be able to follow all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive bending, reaching, and overhead work as required. Must be Available to work any shift!
