Job Summary:

Perform diversified duties to prepare, finish, inspect, and maintain the quality of all painted and primed products produced in the Paint Room. Paint Room Employees are responsible for operating and maintaining water‑based paint systems, ensuring consistent finish quality, monitoring product flow, and identifying defects before material moves to the next stage of production. This role is heavily quality‑focused and requires strong attention to detail, proper documentation, and adherence to established finishing standards. Paint Room Employees must ensure that all painted products meet company quality expectations, including proper coverage, smoothness, cleanliness, color consistency, and absence of defects such as runs, dry spray, fisheyes, contamination, or improper adhesion. Employees are also responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized paint environment. The duties and responsibilities of a Paint Room Employee include, but are not limited to, the following: Work from schedules, specifications, procedures, established methods and practices, monitoring devices, gauges, instruments, and written and verbal instructions. Operate water‑based paint and primer systems, including spray equipment, pumps, filters, drying racks, and ventilation systems, ensuring proper setup and function. Inspect all incoming material prior to painting to ensure it meets quality standards and report any deviant products to Machine Operators and Management. Apply water‑based coatings to mouldings and other products according to company standards, ensuring proper coverage, smoothness, and finish consistency. Perform in‑process and final inspections of painted product, checking for defects such as runs, sags, dry spray, fisheyes, contamination, improper adhesion, uneven coverage, color inconsistency, and surface imperfections. Maintain accurate labeling, tracking, and organization of painted jobs to ensure proper workflow and prevent mix‑ups. Clean, maintain, and perform minor repairs on paint equipment, spray guns, filters, and workstations as directed by Management. Monitor drying times, environmental conditions, and material flow to ensure efficient production and consistent finish quality. Maintain the Paint Room in a clean and orderly manner, including floors, racks, equipment, and ventilation areas, ensuring compliance with safety and cleanliness standards. Detect and report faulty equipment, improper material, or unsafe conditions to Machine Operators and Managers. Follow all safety rules, practices, and procedures, including proper PPE usage and safe handling of water‑based coatings and cleaning materials.
