We are looking for a full-time Painter / Powder Coater for finishing side of our shop. What you'll do Prepare parts for finishing: degrease, clean, sand, deburr, mask, and blast as the job requires Apply powder coatings using electrostatic spray equipment, adjusting gun voltage and powder flow to suit part geometry Apply liquid paint and primer where the specification calls for it Hang, rack, and move parts through the booth and cure oven, holding correct temperature and dwell time Verify finish quality — coverage, adhesion, and dry film thickness — and document readings where the job requires it Inspect finished parts for runs, drips, sags, and thin spots, and rework anything that doesn't meet spec Read work orders, shop drawings, and coating specifications to confirm color, finish, and thickness Clean and maintain guns, booths, hoses, and recovery equipment; keep the finishing area orderly Track powder and paint inventory and flag reorder needs Follow all company, OSHA, and customer-site safety requirements, including consistent PPE use What we're looking for High school diploma or GED 18 years or older 1+ years of powder coating, industrial painting, or comparable finishing experience — we will train the right candidate who brings a strong work ethic and mechanical aptitude Ability to read and follow written work orders and specifications Good color vision for matching and verifying finishes Attention to detail and pride in the quality of finished work Reliable attendance and on-time arrival Ability to work well with shop supervisors and coworkers Nice to have Abrasive blasting / sandblasting experience Experience verifying dry film thickness with a mil gauge Familiarity with SSPC surface preparation standards AMPP (formerly

NACE / SSPC

) certification such as Protective Coating Technician or C7 Abrasive Blaster Forklift certification, or willingness to become certified Sheet metal, welding, or fabrication background Physical requirements and work environment This is hands-on shop work. You'll be on your feet for most of the shift, with bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The finishing area involves airborne powder and paint particles, heat near the cure ovens, and shop noise. Required PPE is provided and its use is mandatory.
