Modular Manufacturing LLC is a growing manufacturing company that builds modular offices and shipping container conversions. We're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Paint Technician to join our production team. This is a hands-on position focused on preparing, repairing, priming, painting, and finishing shipping containers and components used in our modular structures. If you have experience with industrial painting, automotive paint and body work, spray equipment, or surface preparation, we'd like to hear from you. We're also interested in people with strong mechanical or construction skills who are willing to learn. What You'll Be Doing - Your work will help take raw or partially completed components and turn them into clean, finished products.
Responsibilities may include:
Preparing shipping containers and metal components for paint Sanding, grinding, cleaning, and masking surfaces Repairing dents, imperfections, and surface damage using body filler (Bondo) and similar materials Priming and painting container interiors, exteriors, and related components Operating paint sprayers and other painting equipment Performing paint touch-ups and finish work Installing painted accessories and components Helping maintain consistent paint quality and appearance Supporting production flow and helping keep units moving on schedule Responsibilities Follow all company safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe work practices Prepare surfaces for painting and finishing Sand, grind, clean, and mask surfaces as required Apply primer, paint, and coatings using appropriate equipment and techniques Operate paint sprayers, sanders, grinders, and other power tools safely Repair dents and imperfections before painting Inspect finished work for coverage, consistency, defects, and overall appearance Complete touch-ups and corrections as needed Install painted components such as trim, vents, window bars, countertops, and related accessories Safely move materials and components using forklifts and other equipment as needed Maintain and clean painting equipment Maintain a clean and organized work area Identify and report hazards, quality concerns, material issues, or unsafe conditions Work with other team members to keep production moving Support other production needs as assigned What We're Looking For - We're looking for someone who: Takes pride in their workmanship Has strong attention to detail Understands that quality and production both matter Can work at a steady pace without sacrificing quality Follows instructions and safety procedures Works well independently and as part of a team Has reliable attendance and punctuality Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn Is comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment Experience is preferred, but we're willing to consider the right person who has the skills and attitude to learn the job. Industrial painting Automotive painting Automotive body repair Spray painting Sanding and surface preparation Manufacturing Metal fabrication Modular construction Shipping container modification Forklift operation Construction or general trades Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 lbs. independently and heavier loads with assistance Stand and work for extended periods Frequently bend, kneel, reach, climb ladders, and work overhead Work with hand tools, power tools, and painting equipment Work in a manufacturing environment that may be non-climate-controlled, including heat, cold, and seasonal conditions Work around paint fumes, dust, odors, and other conditions associated with painting and manufacturing Wear required PPE and follow applicable safety procedures Schedule - 1st
Shift Monday-Thursday:
6:00 AM-4:30 PM Fridays and additional overtime may be required based on production needs and customer demand. Work schedules, start times, and hours may change at management's discretion based on production requirements, supply chain conditions, weather, or other operational needs.
