We are seeking a Painter to join our team at ITB. This position will be responsible for paint prep and painting anything from commercial and military vehicle bodies, assemblies and parts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Perform spray booth painting on a large variety of assemblies. 2. In addition to mixing and applying various types of primers and paints the candidate will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all paint equipment, spray booth, and air systems. 3. Knowledgeable and able to perform all surface preparation including body filling, glazing, sanding, scuffing, cleaning, and masking surfaces. 4. Able to set up, adjust, and operate automatic paint spraying equipment and bake cycles, maintaining the thickness of coating in conformance with specifications. 5. Ability to follow prints, sketches, written/verbal instructions, procedures, and military/ commercial specifications. 6. Communicate with Project Managers, Engineering, Operations Manager, and other departments during the production process. 7. Promote safe work environments and adhere to all safety rules. 8. Meets agreed-upon goals and objectives in a timely manner. 9. Arrives to work, meetings, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
PERIPHERAL DUTIES 1.
Management of inventory lot numbers when required. 2. Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner. 3. Monitor inventory levels of paint and supply inventory to foresee shortages. 4. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Knowledge of paint, painting materials, and characteristics. 2. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, and drawings/specifications. 3. Shop math including the ability to perform weight/volume ratios. 4. Ability to use basic linear measuring tools. 5. Ability to operate paint equipment such as HVLP spray guns. 6. Ability to lift 50 lbs. 7. Ability to prioritize and independently complete assigned tasks. 8. Ability to pass a physical and pass respirator fit test.
PERIPHERAL QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Automotive understanding 2. Experience either in a production or manufacturing environment. 3. Proficient with Metric and English units of length.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Manufacturing environment; may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, and machinery with moving parts.
EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED
Ability or willingness to learn to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting up to 30lbs regularly and 50lbs occasionally; pushing, pulling, kneeling, and standing for long periods of time; manual dexterity and visual acuity. Must pass a physical exam to be cleared to wear required PPE and respirators.
