Powder Coating Technician Abacus Solution Group Kearny, NJ Job Details $23 - $26 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Union benefits Qualifications Inspection gauge Mechanical blueprint interpretation Defect detection (quality control) Equipment setup (production tasks) Blueprint specification interpretation Industrial ovens Dimensional measurements Powder coating Monitoring processing parameters Equipment adjustment (production tasks) Measurement (quality control) Full Job Description Powder Coat Tech Kearny, NJ 1st and 3rd Shift Roles Available $23-$26 an hour+overtime+benefits Direct Hire-Union Facility The Powder Coating Technician position is responsible for all functions related to the daily production output utilizing a manual spray powder coat gun system and spray booth. This position will require the use of computers, gas fired ovens, air powered filtration systems, air powered spray guns and measurement instruments. Responsibilities and Requirements Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure proper coating adhesion Operate and maintain powder coating equipment and spray guns Apply powder coatings evenly and accurately to designated surfaces Monitor and control curing processes to ensure optimal finish quality Ability to read and interpret 2D prints and work instructions 1-year minimum experience working in a powder coat shop utilizing manual spray applications Ability to use MIL thickness measurement instruments Ability to set parameters and operate oven controls per work instructions
Physical Requirements :
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the work area for extended periods Capability to lift and carry objects weighing up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs] Dexterity to handle spray guns, tools, and small parts with precision Good visual acuity to inspect finishes and detect defects Ability to work in environments with fumes, dust, and potential noise hazards Flexibility to work in various positions, including bending, stooping, and reaching
